Government data breach sees 50 000 workers' data exposed

Information including names, passwords, ID data, phone numbers, as well as corporate information including salaries and expenses was leaked in a data breach which hit the federal Department of Finance, the Australian Electoral Commission and National Disability Insurance Agency. While the size of the leak is substantial, it is not unprecedented and government agencies are expected to have data breach responses in place, not only to comply with government regulations, but also to minimize risk to both agencies and the general public.
